As always, here is the updated Free Agency Tracker and updates:
Following the announcement from NJPW that he has formally left the promotion, plus reports that he eithre has or will sign imminently with WWE, Jeff Cobb moves up from Likely Jump to Safe Jump.
From an impending debut to one that we just witnessed, Josh Alexander was the Owen Cup wild card this week on AEW Dynamite. That’s as confirmed of a jump as one can get! He formerly was in the Safe Jump tier.
Possibly also moving to AEW are the Good Brothers. The Young Bucks teased teaming up with some “Bullet Club OGs” at NJPW’s Windy City Riot for a match vs Bullet Club War Dogs at the upcoming NJPW Resurgence show. Speculation is they will be teaming with the Good Brothers, whose 90 day notice of release by WWE has it timing as just a day or so prior to that show. They could be freelancing, they could be signing to NJPW, they could even be signing to AEW - with uncertainty it means we’re only moving them up to Lean Jump rather than any higher.
Someone who might be exiting AEW is Mariah May. That is, however, seeming to be open to interpretation. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful said everything we’re hearing of late feels like May negotiating through the media, so it’s best to not take anything we’re hearing at face value regarding where she is most likely to end up right now. With such uncertainty but increased odds of her leaving AEW, she moves up from Likely Stay to Toss-up.
Finally, we might’ve been slightly premature with Michael Oku. Last week we dropped him from Toss-up to Lean Stay, and following a notable appearance on Ring of Honor taped in Boston before AEW Dynamite: Spring BreakThru, we’re moving Oku right back to Toss-up. Oku was featured prominently on the thumbnail for this special episode of ROH and received his full entrance, two things not typical for guest performers.
